The ranking includes 20 Polish HEIs, TOP3 are University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University and Gdańsk University of Technology. Lodz University of Technology was ranked 10th in Poland.

QS World University Rankings: Sustainability uses a methodology comprised of indicators designed to measure an institution's ability to tackle the world’s greatest environmental, social and governance (ESG) challenges. It looks for outwards evidence of a commitment to a more sustainable world - from the impact that alumni are making in science and technology to solve climate issues, to the impact of research being done across the UN's 17 sustainable development goals.

QS Sustainability methodology considers 53 metrics grouped within three areas: environmental impact, social impact and governance. TUL was rated highest in the last one and it was ranked 572nd in the world in this area.
