The project brought together students from Lodz University of Technology, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Avantika University, and Papua New Guinea University of Technology, who worked in 14 international teams. Their task was to develop solutions to challenges provided by business partners: Forvia Faurecia Polska, Corning, Sabert, Browin, Amazon Poland, Bełchatów-Kleszczów Industrial and Technological Park, and Polmos Żyrardów.
The projects were developed using the Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) approach, in close cooperation with companies and with the support of academic mentors. The final stage took the form of public presentations, during which students showcased their solutions to experts, business representatives, and partner universities.
During the final session:
• business partners selected the best teams for each challenge,
• an expert jury chose the overall project winners based on detailed evaluation of the presented solutions.
The title of the overall EUREKA project winner was awarded to Team No. 7, which worked on the challenge prepared by Polmos Żyrardów. The team members were: Stanisław Kotowicz and Michał Ogłuszka (Lodz University of Technology), Rose Kairu and Samuel Lahis (Papua New Guinea University of Technology), and Aurvi Pandey and Parth Anil Lambole (Avantika University).
The closing ceremony was also an opportunity to thank all individuals and institutions involved in the project - business partners, representatives of partner universities, and mentors and supervisors from Lodz University of Technology: Klaudia Hillebrandt-Szymańska, Irena Jałmużna, Jakub Statucki, Artur Błaszczyk, Magdalena Godziszko, Michał Szydłowski, and Monika Tomaszewska.
The EUREKA project demonstrated the importance of international collaboration, practice-oriented education, and combining academic knowledge with real business needs.
Congratulations to all participants for their creativity, commitment, and excellent teamwork!
