How can universities prepare students for a job market where innovation, international collaboration, and real-world problem-solving are essential? Lodz University of Technology (TUL) is answering this question through the EUREKA project - an ambitious international initiative that connects students, businesses, and modern teaching methods to create impactful, hands-on learning experiences.

🌍 Łódź Welcomes Students from Around the World

The in-person phase of the EUREKA program has officially begun in Łódź. Fifty students from Avantika University (India), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Malaysia), and Papua New Guinea University of Technology (Papua New Guinea) have arrived in the city to join their peers from TUL. They are taking part in an intensive educational program titled “The Europe Ready Challenge.” In total, more than 80 participants representing four countries across three continents are collaborating, exchanging ideas, and building lasting international connections. Over the course of a three-week stay, students will engage in classes, workshops, and team-based projects focused on real economic and business challenges.

💡 Learning Through Real-World Challenges

At the heart of the program is the Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) methodology, which puts practical experience at the forefront of education. Students work directly with companies, exploring real industry problems, analysing business needs, and developing solutions that can be implemented in practice.

By working in interdisciplinary and multicultural teams, participants gain skills that are increasingly valued in the Economy 5.0 landscape, including innovation, creativity, intercultural communication, teamwork, and complex problem-solving.

🎭 Beyond Education: A Celebration of Culture

EUREKA is not only about academic development - it also provides a platform for cultural exchange and mutual understanding. One of the highlights of the program will be Cultural Day, scheduled for June 23.

During the event, participants from Poland, India, Malaysia, and Papua New Guinea will showcase their traditions, customs, and cultural heritage. The initiative highlights the importance of openness, diversity, and intercultural dialogue in today’s globalized world.

👉 More details about the event will be announced soon.

🌐 University Open to the World

The EUREKA project represents another step in Lodz University of Technology’s ongoing efforts to build a truly international academic environment. By bringing together students from different parts of the world, the university fosters collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the development of future-ready competencies.

At TUL, education goes beyond the classroom - because the most valuable learning happens where diverse cultures, ideas, and perspectives come together.

The project is coordinated by Dr. Dorota Piotrowska, TUL professor and Director of the International Cooperation Centre.

It is implemented under the SPINAKER programme which is financed from the European Fund for Social Development 2021-2027 (FERS) as part of the NAWA project entitled "Support for the creation and implementation of international education programs", project number FERS.01.05-IP.08-0436/23.
