International Cooperation Centre of Lodz University of Technology informs about the possibility of breach of personal data protection in connection with the possibility of access to unauthorized persons to information stored on the email address sao@info.p.lodz.pl.
For this reason, students and employees of Lodz University of Technology, especially those communicating through the email address sao@info.p.lodz.pl are advised to be vigilant and cautious, including if one has a PESEL registration number setting up an account in the credit and business information system to monitor possible credit activity and ignoring unexpected messages urging any additional actions.
Unauthorized persons who gained access to the sao@info.p.lodz.pl mailbox could theoretically retrieve phone numbers and e-mail addresses, and may try to use them to steal money using popular methods, such as "a pending package delivery" or "planned electricity shutdown."
In addition, potentially there is the possibility of identity theft, however, at this point there is no evidence that unauthorized persons have obtained personal information of students and university employees.
