What do you study at Mechatronics?

Mechatronics is a field of study that allows you to acquire knowledge in the field of mechanics, electronics, computer science and automation. I think that this wide range of fields is a great advantage, because every engineer, in order to be able to work efficiently and effectively, in addition to the field in which he or she would like to specialize should have a general idea of the related fields.

How does studying mechatronics look like?

Studying mechatronics is a very interesting experience. The knowledge you gain from mechatronics will be very practical. You will learn to design and manufacture your own circuit boards, operate electric motors, analyze the strength of steel structures and control industrial robots. Studying this field of study, you will certainly not complain about lack of interesting problems or issues that you can work on using modern teaching methods such as Case Study, PBL or Design Thinking.

What do you value the most in your studies at Lodz University of Technology?

Definitely, the wide range of additional activities and development opportunities that the university offers. There are many student research groups and academic clubs, as well as the student government. Depending on what you like and want to do, you can join one of the groups. If you want and have enough time, you can join any of them. In each of them you will meet people who are similarly oriented towards acquiring new knowledge and skills, and in time they may also become your friends. An additional advantage of studying at Lodz University of Technology is the International Faculty of Engineering, where studies are conducted in English or French.  This allows you to develop your foreign language skills. Knowledge of other languages, also in technical terms, is a great asset on the job market. Thanks to Lodz University of Technology you can also go abroad to study or do engineering internships.

Why study in Lodz?

I chose Lodz University of Technology because it is one of the best technical universities in Poland. It educates high-class engineers who already during their first-cycle studies are able to find a job or internship in accordance with their field of study. Łódź offers a wide range of job opportunities for students and graduates of mechatronics. For example, development or maintenance departments in manufacturing companies. In hindsight, I know that I made a good choice when I chose to study mechatronics at Lodz University of Technology.
