Student's perspective - studies in Poland & at TUL

Introduce yourself and tell us about your program of study.

My name is Valeriia Balatska. I'm a first year student and I am from Ukraine. I'm studying Information Technology. In our course, we are focusing on the programming. Also we are studying about the computer architecture, algorithms and data structures. There is quite a lot of Math and Physics, so overall it's a really good course.

What is the most interesting for you?

For me personally, the most engaging subject is programming itself, because I enjoy the process of coding and find great satisfaction in seeing the results.

Why did you choose Poland and Lodz University of Technology? 

I chose Poland because nowadays Poland is a country which evolves at the extreme rate, and I choose this university based on the excellent reviews I heard. Also TUL offers various interesting programs, and the mobility semester particularly caught my interest as I was exploring what university offers. I just love how engaging the student life here is -  a lot of different interesting activities.

Have you already chosen the destination of your mobility? 

I'm not sure yet, but probably Germany or maybe Switzerland somewhere there.

What have you gained thanks to your studies?

It has been not a long period of time, but I can already say that I feel like I'm more flexible. The first week of university has been dynamic, we had various team-building projects that allowed me to interact with many new people, making the start of university life smoother. Also, I feel that my professional skills are growing even though it's been only two months of studies. I am excited about the knowledge I've gained so far.

And do you enjoy your time here?

Yes, absolutely. This is a really lively city with a soul.
