The results of the prestigious QS by Subject Ranking have been published, with Lodz University of Technology once again recognized among the distinguished universities. In this year's edition, the TUL has been classified in three subjects.

In Materials Science, Lodz University of Technology advanced and ranked in the 351-400 range (previously 401-420). In this category, ten other Polish universities were also classified. In Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering, TUL ranked in the 401-450 range, alongside nine other Polish institutions. Another recognition for the university is its presence in Chemistry, where it was ranked in the 601-670 range, joining ten classified Polish universities.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 features 55 individual subjects across five broad subject areas. To produce the rankings for this year the QS team analysed the reputation and research output of over 5,200 institutions. In total, 1,747 universities were included in the rankings.

The ranking considers five indicators - two reputation indicators (academic reputation and employer reputation), two bibliometric indicators (research citations per paper, H-index) and IRN-index, an indicator reflecting the university's ability to diversify the geography of their international research network by establishing sustainable research partnerships with other higher education institutions.
