Studies under the Erasmus+ programme can be undertaken in EU countries as well as in third countries associated and non-associated with the programme. These include countries from almost all over the world, divided into regions.
The list of partner universities can be found HERE.
At Lodz University of Technology, educational mobility is implemented under the Erasmus+ KA131 and KA171 projects, co-financed by the European Union and coordinated by the International Cooperation Centre of Lodz University of Technology.
Information is also available on the European Commission website.
IMPORTANT! Studies may take place only at universities with which Lodz University of Technology has a signed Erasmus+ agreement for student exchange in a field corresponding to the student’s study programme at TUL. Check in the MobiTUL system which agreements are relevant to you. You may select only those agreements that are signed for a field consistent with your study programme.
The English language indicated next to a given agreement in the MobiTUL system does not mean that your study programme at the partner university is offered in English — be sure to check the course catalogue and the language of instruction!
European Project Semester
The European Project Semester (EPS) is a specially designed international programme implemented at several universities in European countries. EPS is dedicated to students who have completed at least two years of study at a technical university. Its main objective is to work in international teams on interdisciplinary projects conducted in English.
During one semester, students carry out an interdisciplinary project while working in international groups and communicating in English. The results of the work are presented in a final report and a group presentation, which serves as the form of assessment. The projects are developed in cooperation with companies or have an academic character.
You can participate in the Erasmus+ programme if:
- you are a student of Lodz University of Technology enrolled in first-, second- or third-cycle studies (regardless of citizenship);
- you have sufficient knowledge of the foreign language in which the studies abroad will be conducted.
Each TUL student has the possibility of:
-
undertaking a stay abroad of up to 360 days at each cycle of studies (with long-term mobility lasting at least 60 days);
-
participating in multiple mobilities at the same cycle of studies (both long-term and short-term mobilities for studies and traineeships);
-
receiving an Erasmus+ grant;
-
benefiting from additional travel funding;
-
benefiting from an additional grant for participants with fewer opportunities.
Why is it worth going abroad to study?
- you develop academically;
- you gain valuable experience;
- you improve your foreign language skills;
- you enhance your career prospects on the job market;
- you gain independence and self-confidence;
- you discover new cultures.
Erasmus+ funding covers:
Individual support (grant):
- these are funds intended to cover costs directly related to living expenses during the stay abroad;
- the amount of individual support depends on the group of countries to which the host institution’s country belongs.
Travel support:
- Each student is entitled to a travel allowance, which depends on the chosen means of transport (standard or Green Travel) and the distance between the starting point (Łódź, the location of Lodz University of Technology) and the destination.
For a standard trip, 2 days of funding are granted.
The distance is calculated using the calculator provided on the European Commission’s website.
“Green Travel” funding:
- “Green Travel” refers to a trip conducted entirely using eco-friendly means of transport, such as trains, buses, or carpooling, where carpooling is defined as sharing a car with others traveling individually along the same route.
- “Green Travel” does not include travel by plane, ferry, boat, or driving alone by car.
- For a “Green Travel” trip, the participant is entitled to a higher travel allowance than the standard rate and may receive individual support for a greater number of travel days (up to 6 days).
- For distances up to 500 km, Green Travel is recommended.
*The intention to travel using Green Travel must be reported to the email address erasmus@info.p.lodz.pl
before signing the Erasmus+ financial agreement.
*The application for support for travel using low-emission Green Travel transport must be submitted in its original form to the SMS office.
If you are a student “with fewer opportunities,” you are entitled to receive additional support if:
- have been granted a social scholarship; submit the document to the SMS office within 30 days of receiving the selection results (at least 6 weeks before your departure);
- have a disability certificate; submit a self-prepared statement to the SMS office within 30 days of receiving the selection results (at least 6 weeks before your departure). You also have the right to apply for additional funding (for this, complete the application form and submit it to the SMS office at least 6 weeks before your departure);
- have documents entitling you to support; complete the application form and submit it to the SMS office at least 6 weeks before your departure;
- have the right to asylum or refugee status;
- have children under 8 years of age (in the year of mobility).
The above must be reported to the email address erasmus@info.p.lodz.pl before signing the Erasmus+ financial agreement.

Recruitment
How to prepare for recruitment? Some good tips:
In the MOBITUL recruitment system, all available agreements will be listed, from which you can choose up to three according to your priority. You may select those that include an exchange within your field of study.
Be sure to MANDATORILY check the language of instruction on the partner university’s website for the selected courses and obtain the required certificate.
Find information about current study programmes on the website of a foreign university.
- Contact the International Exchange Coordinator
Contact the International Exchange Coordinator at TUL to obtain information about the learning outcomes necessary to obtain at your field of study while studying at a foreign university. You should determine with the International Exchange Coordinator whether you will achieve the desired learning outcomes at the university you want to choose during the recruitment process.
- Submit certificates of additional achievements for TUL
If you have additional achievements for TUL, please submit the supporting documents to the Student Mobility Section (SMS) at erasmus@info.p.lodz.pl during the recruitment period in order to receive additional points in the subjective assessment.
- You do not have proof of foreign language proficiency?
Language exams will be held at the TUL Language Center.
Registration dates will be announced in due course and registration is carried out via the TUL Language Center website.
Note: If you have already obtained certification in the required language as part of your study program or you hold another external certificate in that language, you do not need to take the exam at the Language Center.
- You can also submit an external certificate (other than from the TUL Language Center).
Application
What should I do after I qualify for Erasmus+ studies?
1. Read about the application procedure at a foreign university:
Check: strict deadlines, online application, additional documents.
Remember - submit the documents before the deadlines of a foreign university!
2. Fill in the application documents
- Student application for permission to travel abroad or a Doctoral student application for permission to travel abroad; to be signed by the Vice-Dean. Attention: it is a TUL document. Do not send it to a foreign university.
- Transcript of Records (or Diploma Supplement of the 1st cycle of studies) - please ask your Dean's Office to send it to you by e-mail. IFE students receive this document from the Student Mobility Division (International Cooperation Centre).
- Online Learning Agreement (OLA), enter your International Exchange Coordinator's name and obtain signatures from both universities through the platform before mobility. In the event that the host university is not ready to handle OLA, use the Learning Agreement for Studies , sign the document originally, obtain a hand-written signature from your International Exchange Coordinator and then send the document to the partner university for signature. The fully signed document must be sent to the Student Mobility Division (it concerns IFE students)/Dean's Office (non-IFE students) for signature by the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, and then to the Student Mobility Division.
You can check the field of education code ISCED codes for disciplines.
4. Submit documents (by e-mail)
- submit application documents to the Dean's Office (not applicable to IFE students)
- submit application documents to the Student Mobility Division (erasmus@info.p.lodz.pl) before deadlines at a foreign university! (required from all students). The documents must be sent electronically by students directly to the foreign university (by e-mail) or uploaded by students at the foreign university on-line applications (if available). If it is required to send any documents by regular post, they will be sent by TUL office. If the foreign university requires any additional documents, students are obliged to send them together with their application.
.
5. Stay in touch with the Host University - check your e-mail frequently, as you may be asked to correct some documents or update some information.
If you face any delays in getting the documents signed at TUL and it may cause missing the deadline - please inform the foreign university about it and send the necessary documents as soon as possible.
Please remember that you are officially accepted for your mobility after the positive verification of your application by the foreign university. You should receive the Letter of acceptance or other confirmation of your successful application by e-mail.
6. Read the documents
7. Submit the Letter of Acceptance
Please send the acceptance letter/e-mail with specific dates of your stay received from the host university to erasmus@info.p.lodz.pl.
If the acceptance letter does not include the exact start or end date of your stay, please find the relevant information on the host university’s website and send the SMS office a link to the website, an attachment with the academic calendar, or the information received in an e-mail from the university.
Note: When providing the dates, we recommend including any information meetings, such as welcome days or orientation sessions, if such events are planned at the host university and you will be attending them.
(The actual period of stay abroad must be confirmed after the mobility in the Confirmation of Stay or in a separate document issued by the receiving institution.)

In cases of a significant shortening of the stay, you may be required to return part of the grant already received.
8. Sign the Erasmus + agreement
The agreement will be issued after the submission of the Letter of acceptance with specific dates of stay from the foreign university to the Student Mobility Division, e.g. a copy / scan of the Letter of acceptance or an e-mail from the foreign university to erasmus@info.p.lodz.pl.
PLEASE NOTE! If the duration of your mobility as stated on the Confirmation of Stay is shorter than that specified in the financial agreement (more than 5 days), the scholarship will be recalculated according to the dates on this document and reduced accordingly (the amount will be deducted from the remaining 20% of the unpaid grant).
