Times Higher Education World University Ranking
In 2017, Lodz University of Technology took part for the first time in the international university ranking – Times Higher Education World University Ranking, which is one of the most recognizable and valued rankings in the world. It is created in cooperation with the Thomson Reuters Agency. The ranking includes 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across teaching (30%), research (30%), citations (30%), knowledge transfer (2.5%), and international outlook (7.5%).
The number of Polish HEIs classified in the ranking has been increasing. In the 2018 and 2019 editions 12 Polish universities were included, in 2020 edition – 14 and in the 2021 edition – 19. Lodz University of Technology has been ranked 1000+. The Jagiellonian University performs the best consistently and it has recorded an increase in the latest edition of the ranking - it jumped from the range of 601-800 to the range of 501-600.
In 2018, Lodz University of Technology also took part for the first time in the ranking by subject and in the new ranking measuring the level of innovativeness of the University.
