The World’s TOP3 are: South China University of Technology, University of Tennessee Knoxville and Zhengzhou University. TUL has been also classified in Chemistry (777th place), Engineering (524th place) and Materials Science (700th place).
In total, 17,200 universities (up from 15,650 universities in last year's edition) have been ranked in 47 subjects (up from 43 in last year's edition) in the 2022-2023 rankings. Monash University of Australia appears in all subject Rankings and two schools appear in 46 subject rankings: KU Leuven in Belgium and University of New South Wales in Australia.
The overall Best Global Universities ranking encompasses 2,000 top institutions (up from 1,750 last year), spread across 95 countries (up from 90 last year). TUL, as one of 43 Polish universities, has been ranked 1394th. The World’s TOP3 are: Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Stanford University.
The methodology of overall ranking considers 2 reputation indicators, 9 bibliometric indicators and 2 scientific excellence indicators, and of the by subject classification for Polymer Science - 8 bibliometric indicators and 2 indicators of scientific excellence.

The support is directed to people with Ukrainian citizenship who came to Poland no earlier than February 24, 2022 and who were students of Ukrainian universities in the academic year 2021/2022.

Two programmes conducted in English: Computer Science (at the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering in cooperation with the International Faculty of Engineering) and Information Technology (at the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics in cooperation with the International Faculty of Engineering) at Lodz University of Technology have been accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org
ABET accreditation assures that programmes meet standards to produce graduates ready to enter critical technical fields that are leading the way in innovation and emerging technologies, and anticipating the welfare and safety needs of the public.
Developed by technical professionals from ABET’s member societies, ABET criteria focus on what students experience and learn. ABET accreditation reviews look at programme curricula, faculty, facilities, and institutional support and are conducted by teams of highly skilled professionals from industry, academia and government, with expertise in the ABET disciplines.
According to Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of TUL: The process of the programmes accreditation required exceptional involvement of our university staff. Ultimately, as a result of the procedures performed, ABET accreditation was granted to both fields of study we applied for. The fact that Lodz University of Technology has received such significant accreditation is an extremely important step in the implementation of a new, innovative model of designing study programmes at our university. The experience gained during this long accreditation process will allow us to develop new quality standards, which will once again bring Lodz University of Technology the status of a leader in the field of higher education in Poland.

World TOP3 are American universities - Harvard University, Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Polish TOP3 are University of Warsaw (342nd place in the world), Jagiellonian University in Kraków (380th place) and the AGH University of Science and Technology (572nd place).
The ranking methodology considers three indicators: visiblity/impact (number of external networks/subnets linking to the institution's webpages), transparency/openness (number of citations from university Top210 authors, excluding the first 20) and excellence (number of papers amongst the top 10% most cited). It is the first indicator in which TUL has recorded such a large increase (from 6239th to 1121st place) moving university up 775 places in the general classification.
The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain. It is attached to the Ministry of Education and its main objective is to promote scientific research.
