Representatives of all partners came to Łódź – University of Algarve (Portugal), University of Groningen (The Netherlands), SumFuo (France) and Team Coaching (Poland) – to officially initiate the project „Implementation of effective practices for the development of students' emotional intelligence with particular emphasis on anti-discrimination activities at European universities”.

On behalf of TUL, the work of the consortium is coordinated by the Director of the ICC - dr inż. Dorota Piotrowska, university professor.

The participants discussed the assumptions of the project, planned activities to be implemented in the near future and established the principles of cooperation. The meeting was an excellent opportunity to get to know each other and integrate the team, which until now communicated only online.

The main objective of the project is to improve the emotional intelligence of students in order to combat discrimination and ensure equality in European universities.

The consortium will jointly develop the EQUNI game and mobile application, a procedure and online tools for granting micro-credentials, and a guide for universities in implementing good practices.

EQUNI is aimed at students, academic teachers, trainers, mentors, psychologists and advisors, university authorities and managers responsible for developing and implementing anti-discrimination policy.

The project will include a series of trainings, workshops and summer schools for target groups.

The project is co-financed by the Erasmus+ Program within Action 2.

ICC obtained funding for its implementation in the amount of EUR 400,000.

In Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, 1,917 universities have been classified, and TUL has been ranked 168th in the world and 2nd in Poland. In Aerospace Engineering, 753 universities have been classified, and TUL has been ranked 279th in the world and 2nd in Poland. In Ocean Engineering, 547 HEIs have been listed with TUL taking 168th place in the world and 2nd in Poland. In Food Science, in which a total of 1,684 universities have been ranked, TUL has been located 348th in the world and 7th in Poland. 

The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) is a classification of academic and research-related institutions ranked by a composite indicator that combines 17 indicators grouped into three different areas - research (50%), innovation (30%) and societal impact measured by their web visibility (20%). In the 2023 edition a total of 8433 entities have been classified, including 4533 HEIs. 71 Polish HEIs have been considered, with Jagiellonian University, University of Warsaw and AGH University of Science and Technology ranked highest.

The 2023 Women in STEM -Poland Short Essay Contest encourages students to write a short essay about a woman from a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field in English. All participants will receive a certificate of completion, and the top entries will receive a prize provided by the Polish-U.S Fulbright Commission along with a certificate of achievement. 

The challenge is for students to complete a short essay, in English and to be as creative as possible. The purpose of this short essay contest is to continue the celebration of Women’s History Month all around Poland by making women's achievements in STEM fields more visible. Students from high schools, universities, and doctoral programs are all welcome to enter.

The essay competition opens on March 8th and will end on April 16th. Winners will be announced on May 30th.

In Chemical Engineering, only 3 Polish HEIs have been classified: Warsaw University of Technology (201-250), Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (251-300) and the Lodz University of Technology  (351-400). In Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering, 9 Polish universities have been ranked, with TUL classified in the range 401-450. In Chemistry, TUL has been classified between 551 and 600, with 8 more Polish HEIs ranked in this subject. In Materials Science, TUL has been ranked in the range 351-400, 7 other Polish universities have been ranked.

QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 takes into 54 subjects, grouped into five broad subject areas. A total of nearly 1,600 universities from around the world have been ranked in the listings. The ranking considers 5 indicators, with different weights assigned, depending on the subject. These are two reputation indicators (academic reputation and employer reputation), Research citations per paper, H-index, and IRN-index (reflecting the ability of institutions to diversify the geography of their international research network by establishing sustainable research partnerships with other HEIs).

The International Cooperation Centre of TUL invites the employees of Lodz University of Technology to participate in the additional qualification for international mobility for teaching or training purposes.

We would like to kindly inform you that within the framework of the implementation of the agreement no. EEA/21/K2/W/0005, TUL employees can take part in the additional qualification for the mobilities by submitting applications till 2^nd April, 2023.

Mobility must be completed by September 30, 2023.

École d'Ingénieurs à Angers invites to participate in International Staff Week held from May 22nd to 26th, 2023.

The main theme of the event is "Keys to CyberSecurity", which is one of the challenges of the world today. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences and meet international partners. The program consists of various workshops and visits to local companies.

Mainz University of Applied Sciences invites teaching and administrative staff  to participate in International Days “New horizons, new perspectives” that will be organized from 9th till 12th May, 2023.

During the course participants will have the opportunity to take part in presentations, seminars, workshops and international conference ( 10th -11th May).
