The Partners have an ambitious goal to enhance the contribution of higher education to the Sustainable Development Goals by cultivating social responsibility and fostering active attitudes.

The initiative brings together institutions with diverse profiles from 4 countries – Lodz University of Technology (coordinator) and Team Coaching Rafał Nykiel from Poland, Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities from Germany, Riga Technical University from Latvia and partners from Spain - Welfare and Development Association and Autonomous University of Barcelona – TUL’s partner from ECIU.

The meeting in Lodz was attended by 12 representatives of this illustrious group. The team expressed enthusiasm and determination to work together, and the occasion laid the groundwork for their future efforts. Together, they were able to go over important project elements, assign roles, and create an action plan for the upcoming months. A key highlight was the “Working with emotions” workshop which sought to foster empathy for the SDGs.

The #edu4sdgs project is implemented under Erasmus+ Action 2 Cooperation Partnerships. The project budget is 400,000 EUR.

Vytautas Magnus University invites academic staff to participate in “International Staff Week’24”, which will take place on April 22 -26, 2024. You will have the opportunity to conduct classes and share your knowledge and experience with VMU students and staff. In addition, VMU provides also a rich cultural programme.

During our gathering, the participants will have an opportunity to:

• Get to know inspiring success stories: Local coordinators, including from the Lodz University of Technology, will tell us about their projects implemented mainly under Action 2 of the Erasmus+ Programme (Cooperation among organisations and institutions).
• Understand the impact of projects on university development: We will learn how Erasmus+ projects contribute to the expansion of our institutions, broaden educational horizons and create strong international ties.
• Recognise the potential for further cooperation: The meeting is an opportunity to forge new partnerships with other ECIU member universities. Let's get ready for fascinating discussions and the exchange of ideas!

The event will start with an introduction followed by presentations in 10 breakout rooms.

A short wrap-up session will include a presentation of cooperation opportunities within the Erasmus+ 2024 call for proposals.

This event is organised by the ECIU Educational Cooperation Policy and Programmes (EduCo) expert group.

Almost 1,400 universities were ranked in this year's edition of the ranking, compared to 700 included in the previous year's list. This reflects the growing interest of higher education institutions (HEIs) in joining initiatives to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The world's leading universities are the University of Toronto, the University of California and the University of Manchester. The ranking includes 20 Polish HEIs, TOP3 are University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University and Gdańsk University of Technology. Lodz University of Technology was ranked 10th in Poland.

QS World University Rankings: Sustainability uses a methodology comprised of indicators designed to measure an institution's ability to tackle the world’s greatest environmental, social and governance (ESG) challenges. It looks for outwards evidence of a commitment to a more sustainable world - from the impact that alumni are making in science and technology to solve climate issues, to the impact of research being done across the UN's 17 sustainable development goals. 

QS Sustainability methodology considers 53 metrics grouped within three areas: environmental impact, social impact and governance. TUL was rated highest in the last one and it was ranked 572nd in the world in this area.

Fontys University of Applied Sciences invites teaching and administrative staff interested in learning about and discussing innovation in higher education. The event will take place in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, from February 5-8, 2024. It will be hosted by the Fontys Pulsed Academy in Eindhoven, the Ministerial Award winner for most innovative higher education in 2022 in the Netherlands. The whole week will be about sharing best practices around educational innovation and will showcase Fontys Pulsed Academy’s approach.

INSEEC Grande Ecole invites academic staff to participate in the “International Week: The impact of Digital and Green transitions on Business and Society”, which will take place on March 18 -22, 2024. You will have the opportunity to conduct classes and share your knowledge on digital and green transitions with a specific focus on one of the following topics: management, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, business ethics. The aim of the events is also to create new connections, academic exchange and additional experience.

Saarland University of Applied Sciences (htw saar) invites academic staff to join the 15^th Europe Week. The event will take place in Saarbrücken, Germany from May 13-17, 2024.

15^th Europe Week focuses on academic exchange and gaining international experience. Participants will have the opportunity to teach in a multicultural environment while engaging with international partners. Main topics include: Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance/Accounting, HR, Industrial Engineering, IT, Law, Logistics, Management, Marketing, Sustainability and Tourism.

The form of Erasmus+ mobility implementation is combined teaching and training mobility.
